Beef Stew with Toasted Bread

Ingredients: 1 lb (450g) beef stew meat, cut into chunks1 medium onion, chopped2 cloves garlic, minced2 carrots, peeled and sliced2 celery stalks, chopped4 cups beef broth2 tbsp olive oil1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce1 tsp dried thyme1 tsp dried rosemary1 bay leafSalt and pepper to taste2 slices of crusty bread, toasted (for serving)Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)Instructions: Sear the Beef:In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the beef chunks and sear until browned on all sides. Remove the beef and set it aside.Sauté Vegetables:In the same pot, add the chopped onions, carrots, and celery. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes, until the vegetables start to soften. Add the garlic and cook for another minute.Simmer the Stew:Return the beef to the pot. Add the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, rosemary, bay leaf, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine, then bring the mixture to a boil.Cook the Stew:Once it reaches a boil, reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer for 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the beef is tender and the flavors are well combined.Prepare Toasted Bread:While the stew is simmering, toast two slices of crusty bread. You can also rub them with a bit of garlic or butter for extra flavor if you prefer.Serve and Garnish:Remove the bay leaf from the stew.
